Sorry for the delay in response–most of the staff was away at a show this weekend, and it’s taking us a while to catch up on everything.

Yes, you can definitely keep your normal membership going through year 3! As long as you don’t change anything, your monthly membership will keep going as normal–any pledges you make through the Kickstarter will be totally separate.

Thanks so much for all your support!

Yep, Courtney’s right–the dating sim announcer is Alex O’Shea. He’s both a very talented actor, and a friend who I can sucker into doing stuff for me…so expect to hear lots more of his voice in the future :D

“Craving nicotine craving nicotine” is also an Awake alum–Leena Soussi, the voice of Jamilah. Jesse Hodson, voice of Robbie, and Jennie Fiddes, voice of Miki in Tokyo Demons, also covered a few of the side voices in the dating sim sequence and at the party (and we all got to hear Jesse’s middle school boy voice, which was great).

And…”drunk drunk druuuuuunk” was me. On a project like this that’s full of side voices, there’s always a few I have to cover last minute.

Some day, my projects will be legit enough that I can make other people do all the acting! Some day…

wonder1440–your cats are so FLUFFY! And their expressions are so INTENSE! So cute!

I’m glad you’re enjoying the drama so far :D

Corinthian–Your cat looks just like my cat (and audio drama star) Oliver! Who also seemed super interested in this audio drama–or at least in disrupting my work on it by jumping up on my desk and planting his butt right on the keyboard.

I 100% approve of any cat pictures people want to post on here.

I’m glad you guys are enjoying Cat Lover’s Circumstances so far!

I could gush for a long time about how great LAMP and Aiwa and Tara and Elissa and Leah are (just to name the people whose talents you’ve heard and seen in part 1)–so far, this project’s been great to work on, and I’m so happy with our team. I can’t wait for you guys to hear part two and members 3 and 4 of our main voice cast!

Actually getting the cat sounds for CLC was pretty funny–Sulis is the loudest cat ever, especially when she thinks there’s a possibility of getting fed, so I asked Jill to prepare her breakfast veeery slooowly and set up my mic a couple feet away. Got about 30 usable meows and cat sounds out of it.

And Capo–as the editor/composer I’m going to say that there’s nothing dorky about liking the musical cues. I’m super glad you liked the musical cues! Between that and five-pm’s compliment on the music, I’m blushing pretty hard here :D

We had some TD postcards with this design at TCAF last spring, and they went really fast. So we figured it was time to reprint. And I think if someone doesn’t like badass ladies with swords OR adorable snuggling, Sparkler probably isn’t for them :D

Rosa/Janelle didn’t occur to me until they brought it up, either, but now I absolutely love it. I agree, somebody needs to write us some fanfiction! And the fanart you sent us colored on tumblr is wonderful–I am completely fueled by fanart, so that will get me through editing roundtable 2! :D

Thank you again for all your excellent questions–it really made my job easier using them as a guide for the roundtable! And I’m really glad you enjoyed the final product!

Thanks guys! We recorded the first roundtable and covered a lot of these questions–it was a lot of fun, thanks to the Awake cast being super charming and wonderful.

I did want to answer a few of five-pm’s questions that are better suited to text than audio. The roundtables will be part of the final release–they may also be available as next month’s subscriber exclusive. We’re planning to do a CD set of Awake, and although we plan to include the roundtables on that, we may need to do abridged versions if they end up running too long.

And I think a lot of people missed this, but a few months ago I wrote a Beginner’s Guide to Audio Dramas as a subscriber exclusive. If you’re interested in the technical side of audio dramas, this goes through most of my process and gives a lot of tips and suggestions for how to create your own. It’s behind the paywall, but Sparkler members can read it here: http://sparklermonthly.com/exclusive/sparkler-school-beginners-audio-drama/

Thanks for all the questions, and I hope everyone enjoys the roundtables when they’re finished!

Hey guys! Thanks so much for all the Awake love (and hate, and tears, and stuffed animal throwing). It really makes everything worth it knowing that our little story had that big an effect on people.

The cast and I are recording a few actor roundtables soon–the first one is tomorrow night (featuring the voice actors of Travis, Rosa, and Janelle), and the second will probably be next week sometime (hopefully with the rest of the cast). I wanted to open them up to questions from fans, so if any of you have anything you’d like to ask either me (the director) or the cast about the acting process, story, characters, editing, or anything else, please ask away–you can just respond right to this thread.

    Thanks!

    Aw, you guys :D

I’ve been working on Awake pretty much nonstop for more than a year now, and I can’t even believe it’s over. I’ve gotten to work with some wildly talented people, and created something I’m genuinely proud of. And I’m so glad that other people seem to like it, too! If I didn’t know people out there cared about listening to the next chapter, there’s no way I would’ve pulled off all the many, many all-nighters it took to get Awake done. I’m so blown away by the response we’ve gotten :D

This is probably a good time to mention that there’s going to be a short epilogue on the complete set, which will be out pretty soon (once I get all the technical stuff out of the way). We’ll keep you all posted.

Thank you so much for the support!

Time travel, eh? I’m a sucker for a good time travel story…maybe I’ll have to look that up.

I absolutely agree about Nozaki-kun. So freaking great :D
