Hello, dear readers and lurkers!
Sparkler Monthly magazine has opened these forums to provide a safe space for discussion. As you may have noticed, many areas of the Sparkler site don’t have open comments, and readers are instead ushered here–this is so we can have a more closely moderated area for the exchange of ideas. We’re sorry for the extra step, but this will reduce the incidence of trolling, hate speech, and spam. Anyone can read the public areas of this forum, but only registered users on the Sparkler site can comment. You can sign up for a free registration now at http://sparklermonthly.com/membership-checkout/
This forum also has SECRET AREAS for paid subscribers. Like the rest of the Sparkler Monthly paywall, $5 will open up all paid subscriber areas for a month.
Our rules in this place are simple: don’t be a jerk. Constructive criticism and passionate debate are always welcome, but users will receive warnings if they cross a decency line and start trolling, flaming, etc. We also consider the forums a SAFE SPACE for every gender, race, ability level, and background. We will not tolerate hate speech, and harassment and stalking–whether intentional or not–will invoke a warning and/or banning. The moderators of this forum reserve the right to delete and censor posts, issue warnings, and ban users as they see fit…even though we hate doing that. Don’t be a jerk and you’ll be fine.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: If a user wants to post content (especially images) of disturbing content for good reason, please add a quick note of TRIGGER WARNING at the top. The mods may add this for you, but please be aware of how this content can upset other readers. Content that may necessitate a TRIGGER WARNING include graphic descriptions of assault (sexual or otherwise), self-harm, and eating disorders. This has already been done for Tokyo Demons at least once, and you can see the tag here: http://www.tokyodemons.com/book/tokyo-demons-book-2/book-2-chapter-4/
SPOILER WARNINGS: If a user wants to post content that reveals plot twists, please add a quick note of SPOILER WARNING at the top of your post. The mods may add this for you. In the individual chapter threads, spoilers are assumed for that chapter and everything before.
If you have any concerns or want to register a complaint, don’t hesitate to e-mail email@example.com

Quick question: is swearing okay in the forums?February 9, 2014 at 2:18 am #3313Lianne SentarKeymaster
As you probably noticed from our fiction, we have no problem with cursing! I guess if someone posted something that had really, really foul language for no reason, we might ask them to tone it down. We’re trying to keep this place 13+ friendly.
What we ACTUALLY don’t want is really offensive speech–so no slurs, threats, or especially insensitive references (like rape analogies). I know some Western otaku use a nasty term for male characters who dress like girls and can “pass”…maybe you know the term. Won’t be tolerated here because it’s extremely transphobic.
