Since starting Sparkler Monthly back in August 2013, we’ve had a bunch of wonderful people come out of the woodwork to support our magazine. Some of you have run contests on our behalf, written long posts on Tumblr or Facebook encouraging people to subscribe to us, drawn or written fanworks, etc. We’ve been completely blown away by your support.
As most of you know, we’ve been struggling to get the number of members and supporters we need to keep Sparkler running past year two. Our editorial staff really believes in the work we’re doing, and that we just need to get the word out farther to reach that sustainable point. That’s why we’re going to you, our most hardcore fans, for help.
The Sparkler Street Team is a way to organize our awesome fanbase and use that dedication to help us get the word out about Sparkler! We’re hoping to have you guys run contests, let press and reviewers know about us, post reviews on sites like Amazon and Goodreads, give out postcards at conventions–things like that. Getting involved in any project is totally voluntary–we want you to stick to what you feel comfortable with and have time for. And if you have your own ideas for things we could try, feel free to either post in this forum, or contact email@example.com.
We’ve already asked a few of our most enthusiastic supporters to help us organize and run things, and in the coming weeks we plan to fill this forum with threads about things people can do to help out. If you’d like to get involved, just check out the rest of the Street Team forum and join in–you can also introduce yourself in the intro forum.
