I never thought about character traits and dialogue. That’s the first time I’ve seen a chart like that, but it’s incredibly useful if you’re trying to figure out a character, especially if you are working with scripts (and prose too). Like you said, the reader has to know whose talking if we as the writer did not ascribe the dialogue in that tag at that point. One of the problems that I’ve noticed is when all the characters have the same voice and it’s incredibly hard to differentiate them.
