On one hand, there are bad rumors about his father, and he hates them. He fiercely defends on his father’s behalf. On the other hand, in his last smut fiction, and apparently in most of his story works, Booker usually depicts his protga’s mothers as evil or mean ones…
It’s either he holds bad feelings towards his live mother and honors his dead father very much. OR, he hates his dead mother and sides with his living father whom gained a bad reputation because of his wife’s death for some reason.
Or He Honors and loves his father, So does his mother, and depending on the circumstances of death leaves them both distraught, angry, and upset and instead of talking a misunderstanding happens and they are fighting
Or His mother is way too cynical as she runs both businesses and her direction with the father’s one is wrong and she won’t listen to Booker
Or its the combo of the first two the stress, sadness cause them both to make hasty and rash decisions when they need each other most
OR and this may be out there an older sibling who was better than Booker/ got more attention from his parents and ever since their death Booker can never live up to his parents or anyone’s expectations
The reason his mom isnt dead is because pages earlier he was making a present for her so most likely shes not dead

Didn’t he buy his mom a present? If I really disliked somebody I wouldn’t bother buying them one, least of all wrapping it myself.
I think Booker doesn’t have a problem with his parents. At least I didn’t get the impression and considering how passionate he is about everything, I think his dislike would have shown when he talked about his parents with Hal.
I was wandering about other maternal figures that could explain Booker’s anger: grandmothers, nannies? It is implied that both of his parents were away a lot, so maybe somebody else filled in the blanks and then hurt him real bad?
Maybe the questions. Will be answered on Wednesday? Or maybe not.
