      but not really less bad, not like exploding is better than losing your soul and turning into a witch

        Nah, witching out is worse. You’re still conscious. You’re engulfed in darkness and despair and madness. It qualifies as a Fate Worse than Death. Exploding is alright in comparison.
        I have to admit I’m afraid of the power of Deconstruction every time I see magical girls somewhere.

      I’m Think we need a bit more information on this one before we make PM3 comparisons. while it looks bad the idea here is, if he’s truthful, that magical get too much positive power and it overloads them, these seeds keep it in check.

      That sounds reasonable, it make sense anyway if you think of trying to put electrify through a wire too thin, it heats up and melts eventually. So it’s logical that the human body would have similar magical limits and there needs to be a way to keep in check.

      however: the morality of this is dependent on if magicals can retire and how dependent they are on the seeds. if they can stop growing there magic and have a life after slaying monsters for 30,40,50+ years and no longer needs the seeds then it’s moral, sames true of if they just hit a dry spell and can’t get any more seeds. If they don’t auto explode when things are calm then it can also be a justified system.

      Call me on the fence: but watching this situation carefully.
