      Not sure if sarcasm? But this isn’t actually Christian, except maybe a very loose interpretation of the story of Lot and his wife. Religious extremism is certainly bad, but the city’s leader is not using Christian doctrines

        It was a bit of both actually. The religions of Knights-Errant are based on Abrahamic patriarchal belief systems, a la Judeo-Christianity. The crusifix/cross icons displayed in churches and on Beppe and Anton’s armor, as well as referring to the major, monotheistic deity as simply “God,” is a big indicator that the religion practiced in Vetal is based heavily on Christianity, probably Catholicism because of the time period the comic is set in.

        wow that was so much longer than i intended it to be HURRAY FOR SPIELS but yes religious extremism is BAD VERY BAD I agree.

        (im also calling it now that the ash people are based off of Judaism or northern European pagans i’ll eat my own pants if i’m not at least partially right)
