Love, love, LOVE this page! Both of them sitting- one according to religious propriety, the other with casual abandon. But I must be a bummer and just point out that the grammar in Oz’s question should have the ‘can’ switched with another do. As in; “How much praying do you possibly need to do?”, or “How much praying do you have do to?”. The ‘can’ seems to conflict with the lack of choice made by the ‘need’. <3 Justaheadsupahahasorryforbeingabother.

Oscar’s grammar makes sense to me, I’ve a very high standard of English and that’s how I’d phrase such a question. “How much praying do you possibly need to do?” sounds too stilted and formal, it doesn’t flow as nicely as the original phrase.

To each their own, I suppose. ^^ I ran it by a few of my fellow housemates and we all had a general consensus that it sounded stiff as it is, but alas! I will not claim to be a writing critic of any sort. And really, the story and characters are far too engrossing to get my feathers ruffled over a single sentence. I just thought I’d say my piece on the matter.

By Oswald saying “can” makes sense to me, I mean the phrase “how much food can you possibly eat” meaning the limit or amount of, rather than how much praying do you need to do (amount)-> how much praying can (limitation) you possibly need to do

If you were going for the full-on Muslim style prayer, then there should be a taqiyah (cap, topi, kufi, whatever you want to call it) on Wilfrid’s head when he prays, according to Sunnat. It’s not mandatory, but Muslims try to follow Sunnat as best as they can. Just some friendly advice :)
