To be honest, I think this will be worse for Anton. Beppe has cultivated an innocent facade, but he seems to be a bit more canny than Anton. Although if the Margave finds out that the prisoner he released let in the besieging army, Beppe will be hanged or worse. Let’s hope he doesn’t get locked up after being whipped.

  Same, it’s heartbreaking but Beppe seems… resigned, like he’s already had worse. And I’d be very surprised if he resented Anton for this.
