Did he really betray him, though? I mean he did what he promised, how it locking one little door and sending him to get the king’s men a betrayal? Did he agree to help him kill the Margrave or something?

Also, I’m assuming the “You’re already dead” was figurative, but I still know next to nothing about what a “Clay” person is.

  “you’re already dead” referring to how everyone thinks he’s dead because they switched the bodies a few pages back remember?
