Thank you, Sparkler!!! :DHmm, that’s an interesting point. The format with Sparkler is different from most webcomics as new content goes up in chapters as opposed to individual pages. Personally I love commenting (and receiving comments) on a page-by-page basis when in webcomic form since it is such an immediate feedback and helps figuring out what works and what doesn’t. But when a whole chapter goes live all at once, I would most probably make just one comment in the end of it, unless there was one page that completely blew my socks off and I felt the urge to give a shout out to the creator about that. And definitely, page-by-page feedback works best when the creator participates in the dialogue, which depends on time/workload/star alignment and coffee reserves..

My name is Tacto and I am currently transitioning from clinical neurology research work to becoming a freelance comics creator. I found about Chromatic through artist and editor friends whom I had met back in Tokyopop days – when I was lucky enough to win the last Rising Stars of Manga competition in sci-fi category. After Tokyopop folding the outlets for original work shrunk considerably, so seeing Chromatic Press emerge with their fearless approach of original content and female gaze orientation I was beyond excited – and the quality of work here just keeps inspiring me every week. Can’t wait to see Sparkler grow more and more.
This is a very beautiful, poetic story. While reading, it felt as I was watching a live painting, done with colorful words. Kimono and silk descriptions made me think of Sei Shonagon’s Pillow Book, with that attention to detail and poetry.
The illustration suits the mood wonderfully. Beautiful work.Guys of Sparkler calendar…:DDD Can you tell I’m already getting visuals with a Church Xmas party or an Easter egg hunt on Persephone..? And the Jacks.. oh, the Jacks.. sigh
And, Girls of Sparkler could be a reeeally cute thing too, just saying ;PPOhhh.. yes. I like all these things as well.. *.*
I also second Becky on character questions, love that. AND I would put a fight for Rem’s original art too!!! *drools* XDYes, I felt sad for Hina too – made me want to hug her when she joined the guys not wanting to be alone after that >_<
As for the theory about Janelle’s sister – Courtney, I am going to wait a bit before speculating – NoNane has a point – there is not enough info at this point – I just have a hunch that “the crazy energy” she mentions is a good hint.. >.> But I have NO idea about the key’s hidden place so far.. gotta wait for NoNane to elaborate on that one later ^^Woow.. love how the mystery thickens.. and now I have a crazy theory about what happened to Janelle’s sister..
‘I got this crazy energy these days”, huh? <.< Don’t know why, but I keep having the feeling that the dead body has to do with spaces in the cryo pods.. And I start to like Janelle more too – like her liveliness, very well conveyed by the voice ^__^Suspense…so, it would seem Eigen is the cause for whatever it was that happened to Rose and this is related to him trying to do something forbidden or dangerous.. From chapter 2 it seems very much like Eigen was Rose’s dias prior to the accident, although she seems to think he was not. I wonder why?

So many possibilities.. can’t wait to hear more ^__^It IS very cool :D And knowing what is going to happen but in the same time seeing it unfold as it is created is probably one of the best parts – at least that’s how it feels to me when I get a chance to have a glimpse at a project’s development. Keep wondering about the Gauntlet, of course! A great chapter again. I wonder if this is a sort of nightmarish card game and what the rules could be. Another month to wait now.. T__T
After reading chapter 1 I was afraid to go to sleep.. seriously! (granted, I am a wimp when it comes to thrillers and horror, but still!) Amazing beginning to a really intriguing story. I loved how the tension was mounting with every line – I could literally feel the panic rise myself. Great great job!! Not to mention that I was left biting nails wondering what was coming next and what this all is about. Keep this up, I can’t wait for more! :)
