Ha ha! Chiming in here Re: Sakura–after I saw the first costume designs and thumbnails, I was like, “Hey ladies, if you haven’t read CCS in a while, you should totally review it! That’s definitely the clean-line style + spot-blacks + frilly costumes I’d like to aim for with this!” And Team Kaiju was like, “…do you have cameras in our house, or what?”
Okay, I’ll get this party started: The fact that Lillie is my family nickname had absolutely no bearing on why I wanted us to publish this story. I swear. :-) (No one calls me Lillie except relatives and the kids I taught that one time at performing arts camp.)
Chapter 1 was BeBe’s story, but chapter 2 (slated for January) will focus more on Lillie’s side of things. And then chapter 3…you’ll just have to wait and see! ^_^
Oh, and one of the things I particularly loved about seeing this story come together is that not only does Alexis draw awesome trucks (vehicles are hard!!), but she draws all these lovely flowers along the panel borders, too! Noveau-shojo-fusion FTW.
BTW, a little behind-the-scenes trivia: I didn’t catch this until looking at the final pages I was uploading yesterday, but I got to the drinking scene and was like, “What on earth are those bottles supposed to be? They look like weird sports drink or something. But whatever it is, Otho and Peregrine are getting TRASHED, and I want some.” Apparently it’s Jack Daniels. :-) Eh. Close enough.
Thanks for your great responses, folks! We were all super happy with how this story came out, and we’re definitely hoping to work more with Alexis in the future. ;-) Stay tuned!

Yup, you’re right–we didn’t get a chance to draw the Kickstarter backers into the online edition, but that’s one of the various revisions that are on the list of stuff that will go into the print release! We haven’t forgotten! ^_^
Ha ha! Yeah, I totally cracked up when we got the pages in with Tory’s slicked-back hair. Adorbs! And so many kitties in this chapter, too! Hooray for the kitties!
