@five-pm – Holy… I love that picture! :D The bots! The graffiti! The logo on the screen! There’s so much detail and it’s so cute and AAAAAAAH XD
This is a good idea. Our design team is finishing up some stuff this week, but I’ll get one of them on this ASAP.
This looks great, guys! We just put in another big order for promotional postcards (this time of the Tokyo Demons pink cuddle picture), so if you need postcards for an upcoming con, just email store@chromaticpress.com with your address and we’ll ship some to you!
Here are our two designs right now:

They’re one-sided postcards, which means the back can be used for scribbled notes, or it can be shipped through the mail (with a message and a stamp) like a regular postcard.
Ha ha, I’m happy to have you during serialization, Olivia. <3 You're always posting in various threads of the Sparkler forum and it's wonderful.
In terms of importance to the series, Touya ranks right below Ayase and Jo, so it was finally time to give him his own extended perspective. He's such a horrible person that I don't expect people to sympathize with him, but eh. He's an abused teen like the other kids and has his own (awful) ways of coping, which I think is fun, because I like exploring things that are horrible! :D (In case you can't tell from this series and its perpetual misery.)
Nakajima's gonna take center stage these next few chapters, because she's piiiiiissed.
November 9, 2014 at 1:50 pm in reply to: Tokyo Demons: Fukuhashi Fight Club (short story) discussion #8282@pachitastic – I’m sorry, I totally forgot to answer this comment! D:
1.) I’m going to put this particular AU to rest, if only because non-AU canon is already uncomfortably huge! However, this story was partially testing out some stuff we’re doing for the video game, which will probably take place in post-Book 3 Fukuhashi. If you’re into the “back in school” thing. :)
2.) We were just weird and super bored. You chased around a racist wrestling team? That sounds like a much better story.
@caporushes – Pachi (one of our biggest Sparkler supporters) is huge into dolls! You might like her Tumblr, especially if you’re into BJD: http://princesspachi.co.vu/
@corinthian – DMing is literally one of the most creative things you can do, ha ha! Two games at once? Good lord! How many PCs do you have playing?!
I lost most of my hobbies when I started Tokyo Demons 3 years ago (no time for much of anything else), but I was big into jewelry-making when I was a kid, so I picked it up again to do charms for some of our merch (like the keychains, or bookmark tassels: http://sparklermonthly.com/shop/bookmark/bookmarks-tokyo-demons/). It’s really simple stuff, but it’s a stress-reliever, and sometimes I buy extra supplies and turn them into necklaces and earrings for friends and family. A few of my friends are BIG-TIME crafters, so this gives us something to talk shop about. We’re almost ready to have the pieces for the Gauntlet bracelets manufactured, and I can’t wait to put those together!
@five-pm : I’ve specifically been given ZERO SPOILERS on Gatesmith, so I’m following it like the rest of you guys…and I didn’t notice the thing about the hat! O.O Good eye! She seemed really adamant about keeping it with her.
@wonder1440 : I know they’re not supposed to wear that wolfskin, but am I the only one who thought that kid looked super cool in it? *lol* Also, yeah, we switched updates from Fridays to Mondays for Year 2.
Ah, this is such a cute idea! XD I just Tweeted about it from the Sparkler and Chromatic accounts.
October 11, 2014 at 12:04 am in reply to: Tokyo Demons Book 3: Prologue + Chapter 1 discussion #7735Mitsuko’s kinda a gender essentialist and plays both sides–Manic Pixie Dream Girl for the boys, Cool Onee-sama for the girls–but most of her time in the book has been through Jo’s perspective. It was about time for Jo to get a little wake-up call from the other half of Mitsuko’s life. :) (Jo’s also a gender essentialist with feminist leanings, hence his conflict here. And Miki…Miki’s just insanely loyal and that warps most of his other ideals, making him irrational. *lol*)
Also, who wants to take bets on whether Kado stole Touya’s powers and/or is going to use Warp’s hypnotism on him to prevent him from detoxing? Anyone? :D
Ha ha! I like that. And I promise you–it’s gonna get full-on crazy in that penthouse.
September 24, 2014 at 2:06 am in reply to: Tokyo Demons: Save Me/Don’t Save Me (Cherry Bomb short story) #7355Oh, and re: Kado regressing in the touching department, some of that is specific to 1.) men, 2.) Sachi, 3.) what’s going on with Touya, although I won’t spoil the details. Kado’s got this “physical revulsion” slider that goes up and down depending on the situation. He’s always had a low-level version of that revulsion because of his boundary issues (with his power), and it got worse after the rape, but the severity of it is contextual. He was better around Ayase because she was a safe space. :(
September 24, 2014 at 1:56 am in reply to: Tokyo Demons: Save Me/Don’t Save Me (Cherry Bomb short story) #7354Whoops, missed this! Sorry. Thanks for the feedback. <3 People have been pinging me on social media about this story, but my favorite place for discussion is the forums. Feels so organized~.
Re: Kado progressing vs showing his true colors, this isn't a spoiler, but you're right that it's both. Kado's development arc is a very long one, and he's a very severe guy, so his reaction to a challenge is to either cower/hide or leap headfirst. So we're seeing a little bit of that here, in him making an extreme decision and following through...but I also wanted to give him more of the narrative now that the audience knows some of what he was hiding, because a lot of his real personality was hidden under lying and manipulation. I was honestly kinda worried that stuff would get lost in the books proper, plus Sachi getting an orgasm makes the readership happy, so boom! Cherry Bomb was the perfect answer.
(Yeah, the Cherry Bomb Collections are kinda confusing, since they're bind-ups of stuff to a certain date, and then we have stuff rolling out until we have enough for another bind-up. We should probably clarify that better!)
@corinthian – The good news is, you’re getting more soon! Chapter 2 comes out for members in about 48 hours. :)
August 30, 2014 at 1:16 am in reply to: Tokyo Demons Book 2: Finale (Chapter 8, Part 2 Epilogue) discussion #6625Thanks, Isaac. :) So glad you liked it!
We actually just finalized the schedule the other day: Book 3 starts in the October issue, so Monday, October 6th. Sorry for the long wait! Before that, the complete Book 2 ebook should be out as well, and that will have some bonus material.
Sparkler administration work has been eating me for the last few months, hence the ridiculous hiatus. But it’s almost over now. *rubs hands*
The Sparkler staff (which is pretty spread out right now) are trying to do more cons in the upcoming year, although it’s tricky. We always do TCAF, I think we’re waitlisted at Yaoicon, we’d really like to do Ohayocon again at some point, and we’re definitely aiming for Connecticon next year–we just did some panels this year, and that con has gotten awesome since the last time I went a decade ago. :)
August 5, 2014 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Reporting website bugs/problems, such as can't access certain pages #5992Sorry, been out. Definitely something weird going on with your account, sgl – and it doesn’t seem to be happening with anyone else’s when they upgrade, although I’ll keep an eye open after this report. Thank you for reporting it!
I’ll send you a coupon in a minute to reinstate you at the VIP level without the first month’s charge, since that payment did go through.
Sorry for the trouble!
